Prior to that, Mandiant first rose to prominence in 2013, when according to the report it released, China was sponsoring cyber-espionage. Later that year, Mandiant was acquired by FireEye for $1 billion. In March 2022, Google announced that it would acquire the company for $5.4 billion.
